Heathhill surgery News June 2016
New Appointments system!!
Heathhill Surgery has listened to our patients and is trying to improve the functionality of our appointments system. From the 6th June the surgery will be changing the way you can book appointments but before this date there may be a period of less availability while the new system is integrated with the old.
We would ask that you are patient with us in the first few weeks of this change over as there are bound to be teething troubles and we would always value your feedback to ensure we can offer a system that will work better for our patients.
Please also remember you can seek advice on coughs & colds and minor illness, from a pharmacist and for minor injuries, sprains, lacerations and broken bones, visit:
Brants bridge healthspace, Bracknell, RG12 9BG.
8am-8pm every day
DO YOU WORK DURING THE WEEK?
We have routine appointments available on some Saturday mornings (ask at reception). They can also book you an appointment with the extended hours service which is held at Boundary house surgery, Bracknell and are available Monday-Friday 6.30pm-7.45pm & Saturday mornings 8am-1.15pm
Ring any time during normal working hours, for an urgent appointment.
Please only ring after 10am each day to book routine, book on the day appointments, insurance/referral queries, prescription queries and blood results.
You will be able to book a limited number of routine appointments in advance up to 4 weeks ahead with your GP if available.
From June you will also be able to ring each day for a “book on the day” appointment and you will be able to see a particular GP, if they are available that day. These will be on a first come first served basis.
If you cannot come to the surgery you can request a home visit, please ring before 1pm.
If you are in need of an urgent appointment on the same day(including a home visit) you will be triaged by the Nurse practitioner or a GP. You will be offered an urgent waiting appointment or given advice as appropriate. Urgent appointments are not booked with a specific GP and will be seen by all clinicians working that day. They are not timed appointments and you may have to wait according to the needs of the other patients.
We are of course, still holding clinics as before, for fitting of Nexplanaon & intrauterine devices, Minor Surgery, diabetes, travel vaccinations, health checks etc. Please ask at reception for more details and to book an appointment into any of these clinics.
When you ring for an appointment please give the receptionist as much information as possible to allow them to guide you as best they can.
As with the old system there maybe a time when we do not have a suitable appointment to offer you and we would ask that you bear with us during this transitional period. Please be reassured that we will always see you on the day If the situation is urgent.
Sometimes you may not need to see a doctor but you may just wish to speak with them on the phone to clarify something or ask advice. We will be offering more telephone consultations with the GP of your choice to discuss blood results, medication reviews, hospital investigations or future care etc.
We hope that these changes will improve our appoitments system and make the doctors more accessible to the patients. We welcome both positive and negative constructive feedback that will help us further improve the service
